Troubleshoot Common Multicollab Installation Errors

If you’re experiencing issues with Multicollab, this guide covers the most common problems — from file uploads and license key errors to update issues.

Issue: The plugin files won't upload.

If you're unable to upload the Multicollab .zip file to your WordPress site:

  • Ensure you are uploading the file via Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin
  • Check that your server’s file upload limit is sufficient

Issue: I Didn’t Receive My Plugin or License Key Email

  • Check your Spam or Junk folders
  • The confirmation email is sent to the address used during purchase

Issue: License Key Not Working

  • Your license key is included in the confirmation email
  • Enter it in WordPress Admin > Multicollab > Licenses
  • A valid license is required for activation and future updates

Issue: Plugin Won’t Update from Dashboard

If you're unable to update the plugin via Plugins > Multicollab > Update, this may be caused by:

  • An inactive or expired license key
  • File permission issues on your server
  • Temporary caching conflicts

Manual Update Instructions:

  1. Go to Plugins > Installed Plugins
  2. Deactivate Multicollab
  3. Delete the plugin (don’t worry — your settings and data are preserved)
  4. Click Add New > Upload Plugin
  5. Choose the .zip file from your email or account dashboard
  6. Click Install Now, then Activate
