How to configure Slack notifications

Slack integration is only available with the PRO plan subscription.

Stay updated on your team’s editorial activity with real-time Slack notifications for Multicollab. With Multicollab connected to Slack, editorial and content teams are able to receive timely comments and suggestion notifications that expedite content publication.

Once enabled, Multicollab sends real-time updates to your selected Slack channel for:

  • New comments or replies
  • Suggestions added or discussed
  • Mentions and assignments
  • Resolved comments or accepted/rejected suggestions

Team members can click directly from Slack to jump into WordPress or keep the conversation going in Slack.

Here, you can select the Slack channel where you'd like to receive updates and choose which activities to track.

Types of Slack Notifications

Below are the exact activities that will trigger Slack notifications once the integration is active:

Add Comment:

  • New Comment: When a user adds a new comment
  • Reply to Comment: When someone replies to an existing thread
  • Add Attachment: When a file is attached to a comment or reply
  • @Mention in Comment: When a user is mentioned in a comment or reply
  • Assign Comment Thread: When a user is assigned or reassigned a comment thread via @mention

Add Suggestion:

  • New Suggestion: When a suggestion is added on a post or page
  • Reply to Suggestion: When someone replies to an existing suggestion thread
  • @Mention in Suggestion Reply: When a teammate is mentioned in a reply
  • Attachment in Suggestion Reply: When a file is attached to a reply in a suggestion thread

Resolve Comment Threads:

Resolved Comment: When an entire comment thread is resolved or deleted

(Note: This applies to full threads, not individual replies)

Accept/Reject Suggestions:

Accept/Reject Suggestion: When a suggestion is resolved by either accepting or rejecting it

Notification Example

Slack notifications clearly display:

  • The type of action (e.g., New Comment, New Suggestion)
  • The contributor involved
  • A link to the relevant post or page in WordPress

To remove an active Slack integration from Multicollab, click on 'Disconnect' displayed on the Integrations tab on the Multicollab plugin settings page.
