Handling Comments/Suggestions during Site Migrations/Backups

Multicollab stores all comments and suggestions in your WordPress database as post metadata. This means they’re automatically included when you perform a full site backup or migration.

To ensure your collaboration data is preserved:

• Use a full backup plugin like UpdraftPlus, BlogVault, or All-in-One WP Migration.

If migrating your site, choose tools that support custom post meta, such as:

• WP Migrate DB Pro
• Duplicator
• All-in-One WP Migration

⚠️ Important: Partial exports (e.g., just exporting posts/pages without metadata) may result in loss of comments and suggestions.

Always validate your backup or staging site to ensure collaboration data is intact after migration.

Tip: Before major migrations, create a staging copy and review it using Multicollab’s activity panel to confirm everything transferred correctly.
